About Me

My Name is Shane Clark, and I thank you for taking the time to visit my portfolio site. I have been involved in business systems and web development for the past fifteen years. I started doing system and network consulting in 1999 and gradually evolved into more of a business system developer. For the past eight years, I have been involved in marketing and developing websites on a white label basis for U.S. and Canadian web development companies. While this type of work may not be as financially advantageous, I am more than rewarded from what I learn working with other professionals.

I recently became a member of the IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals). I feel that accessibility should be a significant consideration at every level of the web development process. In a recent blog post, “Planning an Accessibility/ADA Strategy for Your Agency, “I have outlined some of the best practices/strategies I have come across.

I was born around fifteen minutes from Google headquarters, so it seems fitting that my path would take the turns that it has. Over the years, I have traveled and worked in more than fifteen countries as an employee, freelance consultant, and independent contractor. I do not take on all clients or projects, but the ones that I do are those that create lifetime relationships. This is, by far, the most satisfying part of what I do.

Over the past three years, I have gradually added web marketing to the list of skills I am proud to say I have learned successfully. I find real pleasure in turning a raw or existing business dream into a viable reality. This would not have been possible without the support and knowledge shared by many of the great clients I have had the privilege to work with.

I am currently working on becoming a Google partner to certify and validate the experience that I have had in successfully building and marketing websites. Understanding how business and technology work together, I would say, is my most significant asset, and I plan to continue to enhance these skills.

Thanks for visiting my site, and let me know if I can assist with any of your questions.

Thanks,

Shane
