Best Places for Drone Photography

Written By: on February 12, 2022 Places for Drone Photography

In the US, federal law makes it illegal to fly drones in national parks. However, this reality doesn’t mean you should stop exploring the country’s possibilities as a drone enthusiast or pilot. Best Places for Drone Photography are still abundant across the country, offering a plethora of destinations to see and add to your bucket list.

US Destinations for Drone Photography

Malibu

Southern California is rich with gorgeous scenery ideal for drone photographers. However, finding a spot with unrestricted airspace can be difficult due to the density of people and the number of airports. We recommend Malibu for aerial photography because it is just far enough away from the hustle and commotion of Los Angeles.

Yes, it’s worth your time if you can manage to get some stunning natural scenery in SC. Malibu’s unique geography offers many shooting sites, from the most remarkable coasts to heavily wooded mountains. These are all just waiting to be discovered.

Bitterroot Valley

Bitterroot Valley, in southern Montana, awes tourists with its spectacular display of the great American west. It’s a perfect spot for drones to soar through broad open vistas, with sweeping mountains, ranges, and hills.

You can fly above vast forests and wildlife from a bird’s eye view or get close to the ground to weave between vegetation and streams. You might even get a picture of some of the Valley’s famous animals, such as elks, upland birds, and even waterfowl if you’re lucky.

Key Largo

If you’re looking for something tropical and warm, look no further than Key Largo. The Florida Keys could be the ideal spot for you. Key Largo’s clear skies, shores, and crystal-clear ocean indeed and quickly make it a popular destination for visitors and drone pilots alike.

You will surely leave Key Largo with stunning aerial photography and incredible drone footage that will make you feel like you’re back there, relaxing.

So whether you’re catching the multicolored seawater or perhaps peeping beneath it to see the flora there or focusing on the pure white dunes and groupings of palm trees, this place is a fantastic retreat – and the perfect location for drone videography and aerial photography.

Mount Evans

Have you checked off one of America’s most renowned mountains on your drone bucket list yet? Mount Evans, Colorado’s highest mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, lives up to its illustrious history. Beautiful views of the sky, neighboring mountains, and bodies of water may be seen from the peak, which dominates the western skyline.

Prince William Sound

Bring a winter coat (or two), but the beautiful views of Prince William Sound will make you forget you were ever cold. The location is noted for its gorgeous beauty and is located in the Gulf of Alaska.

Take your drones to observe woods, waterfalls, and glaciers. Yes, there’s a chance to see the northern lights if you schedule your trip at the right time of the year. Visitors can also witness some of the area’s well-known wildlife, including massive humpback whales!

Ozark Mountains

Head south to Arkansas if you want to see another mountain range that will blow your socks off. With their sky-high views of woods, hills, and other landforms, the Ozark Mountains are one of the most popular places for pilots in this state. The area also has the best sunsets.

Sandy Beach Park

In Hawaii, there are almost endless opportunities for drone photography. Sandy Beach, a favorite of locals and visitors alike, is recognized for two things: tremendous shore breaks/waves and beautiful, delicate sand.

While you should avoid plunging into the park’s waters unless you’re a skilled swimmer or surfer, the sights can make for some spectacular drone footage. Sandy Beach is a lovely landscape that should not be missed. Go here if you want to see and experience a gorgeous yet solitary stretch of beach across the Halona Blowhole rock formation.

Cape Cod

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is our next top aerial photography destination. The Cape is the perfect setting for a quaint and relaxing beach holiday in Massachusetts, whether an amateur filmmaker or a professional drone photographer. This peninsula is divided from the mainland by a canal with two lovely bridges. Panorama photography here is elementary, even for beginners. The beaches and distinctive marshy formations are, of course, the best features. Cape Cod has nearly 550 miles of beautiful shoreline that runs parallel to Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic.

Global Destinations for Drone Photography

New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the most beautiful and distant countries on the planet, and it truly is a drone pilot’s dream. The two islands are full of varied scenery that is relaxing and breathtaking from both the ground and the air.

Because most of this nation is little populated, most of it remains uninhabited, and there are endless natural land features to uncover. Glaciers, rain forests, and fjords are among the various terrains. And because there are seven times as many sheep in New Zealand as there are people, be sure to get a photo of these woolly critters from the skies!

Koh Tao

Thailand is the next destination on our schedule, a beautiful country with almost unlimited locations ideal for drone photography. If you can only travel to one spot in Thailand, we suggest the isolated island of Koh Tao.

Because the law forbids fishing near the shore, a plethora of marine life has returned, making the island as lovely from above as beneath the ocean. This island has romantic loneliness and is remote, but you can still access it by riding a ferry. The vistas are incredible, and you can use your drone to easily explore the entirety of this remote island.

Bali

It’s simple to understand why Bali is among the most popular tourist destinations and one of the most sought-after places for drone photographers and drone videographers.

The prospects for unique photography abound but due to its widespread popularity. Sadly many landmark areas have begun to prohibit the use of drones near the properties.

Don’t be sad! There are still lots of opportunities for aerial photography and drone videography. Bali is rich in natural beauty. It has gorgeous waterfalls and equally impressive beaches. Aside from the natural scenery, one of the unique aspects of Bali is the presence of vertical terrace farming. The farming method results in intriguing vistas with lovely patterns created by the wind.

Summary:

Location is crucial if you want to shoot the best aerial photos and drone videos. By traveling and shooting in different places, you can practice your craft and hone your skills quickly. If you are shooting for business and you need professional drone video editing services, contact me today.
